We know the importance of effective and reliable home heating because for decades, our industry has strived to provide it. We will continue to do so for decades to come, but we also know that the future of the planet cannot be safeguarded unless our industry changes how we do business and transforms the fuels we provide.

Right now, 37% of Irish households are heated using kerosene, and that dependence is much greater across much of rural Ireland where the overwhelming majority of homes are heated this way, and where no viable alternative exists. Working together, we want to achieve objectives which will deliver the environmental change which Ireland needs without impacting on the continuity of supply which Irish households depend on.

We want to

  • Make it possible for all users of liquid fuels to reduce their emissions.

  • Raise awareness among the public about the options such as bioliquids which exist.

  • Build upon the significant efficiency gains which can be achieved by upgrading boilers.

  • Work to ensure that biofuels become a core part of policymakers’ plans to slash emissions.

  • Pave the way for the introduction of new and advanced liquid fuels which can deliver zero carbon heating in the coming years.

A Note from Philip Hannon,
our CEO

“I am delighted to be at the helm of TAZCH at such a crucial time for the home heating sector in Ireland and abroad.

The sector can play a significant role in reducing carbon emissions as efforts continue to tackle climate change. It is becoming increasingly clear that a broader approach to tackling reducing emissions should be followed. I look forward to working with my colleagues in TAZCH to ensure the role of new and advanced renewable liquid fuels is central to a broader approach from Government”.
